JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Adam John White, of Mount Vernon, was recently commissioned as a first lieutenant in the Missouri Army National Guard.
Maj. Gen. Stephen L. Danner, the adjutant general of the Missouri National Guard, recently administered the oath to three new officers at the Ike Skelton Training Site in Jefferson City.
"You have embarked on a new chapter in your life that I hope you will find as fulfilling as all of those who are here today. We want to welcome you to the Missouri National Guard and look forward to your years of service," said Danner.
White will serve as a physician assistant with the Detachment 1, Missouri Army National Guard Medical Detachment of Neosho.
"This is a great start to the beginning of my military career," said White.
White graduated in 2004 from Missouri State University in Springfield, and is currently employed as a physician assistant in Joplin.
White is supported in his decision to join the Guard by his wife, Melissa; children, Michael and Maurice; and his parents, John and Sonja White, of Farmdale, Ohio.
