WARRENSBURG, Mo. - KMOS-TV (PBS) will broadcast a half hour special program titled "We are the Guard: Always Ready, Always There" tonight at 8:30 p.m. on KMOS Channel 6.1.

The program, a Missouri National Guard production, details the service and sacrifice of Missouri's Citizen Soldiers and Airmen at home and abroad. It explains the National Guard's dual mission as America's oldest and only constitutionally-mandated military force. "We are the Guard" features interviews with two heroic helicopter pilots and chronicles the Missouri Guard's efforts to support Missouri residents during the natural disasters of 2011.

KMOS broadcasts to 38 counties in west central Missouri. Its broadcast signal reaches from Kansas City's western suburbs to Moberly, Columbia, Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks. KMOS is also available on several cable and satellite television outlets.

In addition to tonight's broadcast, KMOS will televise "We are the Guard" on May 19 at 4:30 p.m. and June 24 at 10:30 p.m.
