CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Pvt. Tyler Reece, of Doniphan, recently completed his military training to become a petroleum supply specialist for Missouri National Guard's 205th Military Police Battalion in Poplar Bluff.
"I joined the Missouri National Guard to better my life and make my Family proud," said Reece.
He graduated from basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and advanced individual training at Fort Lee, Va.
Prior to training, Reece served with Company E of the Recruit Sustainment program in Cape Girardeau. Through the program, he learned basic Army skills and values and became more familiar with his role as a Soldier in the Missouri Army National Guard.
Sgt. 1st Class James Rudd, recruiter at the Poplar Bluff armory, said Reece will be a great addition to his new unit.
"He works fast and hard," said Rudd. "He's dedicated to doing a task or mission efficiently and quickly."
Reece will begin serving with his new unit in August 2012.
Reece is supported in his military career by his wife, Brittney; his mother Becky Reece, of Poplar Bluff; and his father Roger Mattingly, of Wapapello, Mo.
