ALBANY, Mo. - Aaron Bundy, of Albany, recently enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard and will serve with Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in Kansas City.
Next summer, Bundy will begin his basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. He will later receive instruction for his military occupational specialty as an air traffic control operator at Fort Rucker, Ala.
"I hope to take my job with the National Guard and build on it," said Bundy.
Upon enlistment, Bundy will earn more than $500 a month in GI Bill benefits plus 100 percent college tuition assistance. He also received a $5,000 signing bonus.
Bundy is a senior at Albany High School. He is the son of David and Ruby Bundy of Albany. He is employed by the Albany Aquatic Center and Hy-Vee.
Bundy was recruited by Sgt. 1st Class Bobby Smith out of the Albany recruiting office.
