LEXINGTON, Mo. - Matthew Walker, of Vienna, recently enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard and will serve as a nodal network system operator with Company C, 35th Infantry Division in St. Joseph.
Walker comes to the unit as a former Marine and recently served as a cyber network operator at the Pentagon.
"My goal is to be warrant office with the Missouri National Guard," said Walker. "I like the fact that I'll be able to work with satellite communication equipment and broaden my communications experience."
Currently, Walker is a fulltime student at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla studying information science and technology.
Walker was recruited by Sgt. 1st Class Derek Morgan, of the Lexington recruiting office.
