Eligibility for Retroactive Stop Loss Pay

As many of you are aware a letter was sent out recently to several thousand Army National Guard Soldiers to their last known home of record informing them of their entitlement to receive Retroactive Stop Loss Pay. Unfortunately not all received or responded to this message.

The attached list represents Army National Guard Soldiers from your State that are on the "known" list who have not been paid Retroactive Stop Loss Special Pay. Each State and Territory is listed under a separate tab. Those Soldiers listed with a loss date are separated from the ARNG. Your assistance in the dissemination of this information is greatly appreciated.

The cut-off date for Soldiers to submit a claim is 3 Dec 2010. The Army is not authorized to make payments on claims that are submitted after 3 Dec 2010.

(The recent congressional continuing resolution (CR) allows continued government operations through December 3, 2010. The CR extends the application period for retroactive stop loss benefits throughout the duration of the continuing resolution).

For submission, Army National Guard members will need the following documents.

--DD Form 214
--DD Form 4 Enlistment/Reenlistment/Extension Contract
--DD Form 1966 Separation Document
--DA Form 4187 for Stop Loss Adjustment of ETS
--Separation Document NGB22

Indefinite Enlisted Soldiers
--Memorandum showing approved retirement was denied or suspended

Officers
--DD Form 214
--Memorandum showing approved retirement was denied or suspended
