ST. JOSEPH - The Missouri Army National Guard's 27th Recruiting and Retention Battalion recently honored Soldiers for their past year's efforts in building the National Guard state-wide.
Among those honored was Sgt. 1st Class Brent Young with Area 1, 27th Recruiting and Retention Battalion in St. Joseph. Young received the Recruiting and Retention Commander-Sergeant Major Award.
The award is presented to recruiting and retention noncommissioned officers who produced 15-17 new enlistments during the year.
"Receiving this award this year meant a lot to me," said Young. "It took many hours of hard and diligent work to achieve the number of enlistments it took to receive this award. With moving on to a NCOIC (noncommissioned officer in charge) position this year, receiving this last recruiting award was a nice wrap up to my six year recruiting experience."
Young lives in Chillicothe and was based at the Richmond recruiting office.
