JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Tim Bock, a Jefferson City resident and the deputy director of information management of the Missouri National Guard, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel Tuesday.

"We know this has been a long-awaited and much-deserved promotion," said Col. Wendul Hagler, the chief of staff of the Missouri National Guard. "We look forward to the things you will do in the future."

Bock took the opportunity during his promotion ceremony to give thanks to his Family for their support throughout his military career.

"It has been normal for my daughter and son to see their dad get on a bus and drive away for military duties," Bock said. "It is normal for them to write letters, to send care packages, and to watch for a holiday greeting on TV. So, thank you."

Thanks were also in order for Bock's wife, Jeanine.

"If I didn't say 'thank you' for being a friend to other military spouses and families, thank you," Bock said. "If I didn't say 'thank you' for taking care of everything at home while I was away on deployments or annual training, thank you. And if I didn't say 'thank you' for always being by my side, thank you.

Bock has over 29 years of service. He received his commission January 5, 1990 from State Officer Candidate School.

During his military career, Bock has deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm with the 35th Rear Area Operations Center. He also deployed to Operation Joint Guardian, Kosovo Forces 10, with the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.

In addition to deployments, Bock has attended numerous military schools. He also graduated from Lincoln University in 1998.

In attendance at the promotion ceremony were Bock's wife of 22 years, Jeanne, his daughter, Jamie, and son, Evan, his brother, sisters, father-in-law, and mother-in-law.
