REPORTING INFORMATION You should report to

OVERVIEW
The state
OCS option is a 18 month course of instruction conducted from
April to July of the following year. Upon commissioning,
each officer will attend an Officer Basic Course (OBC)
within 18 months (one six-month extension may be granted)
in the branch to which he or she is assigned
PHASE
ZERO: One weekend drill will be held each month in
April, May, and June, conducted at Fort Leonard Wood.
Administrative in-processing is conducted to ensure all
applicants meet the minimum enrollment criteria. Drill and
ceremony, physical fitness, and land navigation training are
conducted to prepare the applicants for Phase 1. Applicants
must pass an Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) during this
phase prior to being accepted into the program
PHASE I: A
two-week annual training will be held in June with personnel
reporting to Salina, Kansas. The training will focus on
leadership and basic military skills. Candidates will receive
land navigation training and testing conducted at the regional OCS training facility

II A two-week annual
training will be held in June with personnel reporting to
Salina, Kansas. The training will focus on leadership and
basic military skills. Candidates will receive land navigation
training and testing conducted at the regional OCS training
facility.
PHASE II: IDT weekends will take place from July
to June. Candidates are assigned to the 140th RTI.
Candidates will perfect the skills previously learned and
concentrate on military subjects such as ethics, military
justice, logistics, personnel administration, NBC,
tactics, and patrolling.
PHASE III: A
two-week annual training will be held in August,
Candidates will report to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and
be flown to Ft. Lewis, Washington. Tactics and patrolling
will be conducted and leadership skills evaluated. Upon
completion, candidates may be commissioned pending federal
recognition.
Traditional OCS is 18 months long and organized into 4
phases:
Phase 0:3 orientation
drills (Mar, Apr, May) at Ft. Leonard Wood;
Phase I:15-day AT (Annual Training) in June at Salina, KS
Phase
II:13 IDT weekend
drills at Fort Leonard Wood.
Phase
III:15-day AT in August
at Fort Lewis.
Accelerated OCS is
6 months long with a compressed Phase II.
Candidates will complete Phases 0 and Iwith the Traditional OCS Class.Phase II (immediately following Phase I) is compressed
into 28 days at Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA in July.Finally, Phase III follows and is a 15-day AT at Ft.
McClellan, AL in August.
The
accelerated candidates then graduate withTraditional OCS Class in September.
If you are interested in attending OCS,
you must first attend an upcoming OCS Information Brief (dates to
be announced).
You must apply for OCS through your chain
of command and submit an enrollment packet through your unit.
Your unit administrative personnel or OCS
Recruiter will ensure your OCS packet is complete and approved by
your Commander.
You must have your enrollment packet with
you at your first OCS drill on 5 Mar 05.
