COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR WILL PIERCE
CSM Pierce joined the Active Army in October of 1987 as a Supply Specialist. Upon completion of his enlistment he was an in-service recruit into the Missouri Army National Guard, Company F, 735th Main Support Battalion in Springfield, Missouri as an armorer.
He remained a member of Company F serving as an Active Guard Reserve Unit Supply Sergeant and then became a Combat Medic and served as the Unit Readiness Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) in 1996. He served as the Readiness NCO until 1999 and until selected as the Battalion Operations Sergeant for the 205th Area Support Medical Battalion.
He served as the First Sergeant (1SG) for Headquarters Support Company, 205th Medical Battalion in 2001 and served as 1SG through their Noble Eagle deployment to Fort Riley, Kansas from March to July 2003. Upon redeployment from Fort Riley, he transferred to the 35th Engineer Brigade and served as the Brigade Senior Logistics NCO. He remained in this capacity until June of 2005 when he was selected to serve as the 110th Combat Engineer Battalion CSM.
He deployed to Iraq as the 110th CSM in August 2005 through November 2006 then returned to the 35th Engineer Brigade as the Senior LOG NCO.
In June 2007, he mobilized again to be the Senior LOG NCO in support of 35th Engineer Brigade’s deployment to Baghdad, Iraq until May of 2008. Upon redeployment he served as the Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ), G4 Senior LOG NCO.
In August of 2009, he was selected to serve as the 35th Engineer Brigade Command CSM. Upon completion of his CSM duties July 31, 2012, he returned to JFHQ as G4 Senior LOG NCO.
In March of 2013 he was selected to serve as the Missouri Army National Guard State CSM.
On January 1, 2018, CSM Pierce was selected and continues to serve as the Missouri National Guard Command Senior Enlisted Leader at JFHQ.
CSM Pierce’s awards and decorations include, but not limited to, the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal (4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Commendation Medal (3 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Achievement Medal (1 Silver and 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster); Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Service Stars); and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
CSM Pierce is a lifetime member of the Missouri National Guard Association.
