CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER PATRICK MUENKS

Chief Warrant Officer Five Patrick Muenks is a native of Linn, Missouri.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985 and Masters of Education Degree in 1994 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  He is a certified school administrator and educator in the area of vocational and technical arts.

Chief Warrant Officer Five Muenks enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard in 1980 and was commissioned through the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps, the University of Missouri in 1984.  He graduated from the Army Medical Department Officer Basic Course, Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a Medical Service Corps Officer in 1985 and attended U.S. Army Helicopter Flight Training at Fort Rucker, Alabama, in 1986.  He completed UH-1H pilot qualification in January 1987 and received his Warrant Officer appointment in 1992.

Chief Warrant Officer Five Muenks recent assignments include Command Chief Warrant Officer, 35th Combat Aviation Brigade; Quality Control Section Leader, Alpha Company 1107th Aviation Group (Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group); and Aviation Materiel Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 1107th Aviation Group (Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group).  His military aircraft qualifications include the UH-1H/V, UH-60A/L, and UH-72A.  During his aviation career, he served as a Maintenance Test Flight Examiner, Standardization Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner and Aviation Safety Officer.  Chief Warrant Officer Five Muenks combat deployments include Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait (1991), Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq (2004 and 2008), and Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan (2014).

Chief Warrant Officer Five Muenks has received several military awards including the Bronze Star Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal with Valorous Device Numeral 2, Army Commendation Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with One Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and Two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Service Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Gold Hourglass and “M” Device, Saudi Arabian Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait, Kuwait Liberation Medal-Government of Kuwait, Army Master Aviator Badge and the Combat Action Badge.

Chief Warrant Officer Five Muenks has two children and resides with his wife, Mary, in Linn, Missouri.
