JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Paula Dayringer, of Kearney, will serve as the director of the Missouri National Guard’s G-1 section, which handles the Guard’s personnel issues.

Dayringer served as a personnel specialist shortly after she enlisted in 1982. Since then, she has served in a number of other capacities, including as a maintenance officer. She said she is pleased to be returning to the personnel section.

“When the opportunity came for me to come back into the G-1 world, I couldn’t pass it up,” she said.

Dayrignger was also recently promoted from lieutenant colonel to colonel in the Missouri National Guard at a ceremony at Ike Skelton Training Site in Jefferson City on Oct. 21

Brig. Gen. Stephen Danner, adjutant general of the Missouri National Guard, presided over the ceremony. Danner said he was especially impressed with Dayringer when the two served together in Iraq.

“I always felt there was no doubt she’d move up in rank,” Danner said. “It’s a real pleasure for me to be up here with Col. Dayringer.”

Although her family could not join her at the ceremony, Dayringer said she appreciates the support her family has given her over the years.

“It wouldn’t be life without them,” she said. “I don’t know what it would be, but it wouldn’t be life.”
