Macon Training Site Public Access Policy This policy defines public access and restrictions at the Macon Training Site. Public access is only authorized by postings and provisions of this policy. The training site is closed during scheduled unit training. The National Guard will work to avoid scheduling military training during the spring turkey or the fall firearms deer seasons. ---(A) Baker's Acres Training Area- Baker's Acres will be closed October 17th and 18th 2011. Public access is limited to foot traffic only. A designated parking area is available at the entrance gate. The entrance gate is located on Jaguar Street, approximately 2 miles west of US Highway 63. Vehicle and bicycle access is restricted to graveled roads and designated parking areas, unless otherwise posted. Equestrian use is permitted only on graveled roads open to vehicular traffic. A group of 6 or more must obtain an approved training site use request. The use of private all-terrain / Off Road vehicles or utility terrain vehicles are prohibited. Hunting and fishing is permitted on all three training areas in accordance with the Missouri Department of Conservation State Wildlife Code for statewide permits, seasons, methods, and limits, unless otherwise posted. Missouri Department of Conservation Fishing boats may be used on lakes and ponds, unless otherwise posted. Launching areas are permitted at posted sites only. Boats may not be left unattended overnight. Only electric motors are permitted on lakes and ponds. The following are prohibited by the public at all times on the training areas: The destruction, defacing, or removal of property, digging or other soil disturbance, tree removal, caving, fireworks, possession of glass food and beverage containers. | Macon Training SiteBaker's Acres will be closed October 17th and 18th 2011.
