| CSM James E. Schulte |
CSM James E. Schulte assumed duties as the State Command Sergeant Major on 15 October 2009. He was born in St Louis, MO and he enlisted in March 1970.
He completed basic training and infantry training before being assigned to Drill Sergeant duties in the USAR. His assignments in the Missouri National Guard have included training and operations at Battalion, Brigade and State HQ as well as Battalion CSM. He has served two combat tours in Afghanistan, first as an Embedded Trainer to the Afghan National Army and on the advance team for the first Agri-business Development Team.
His military education includes the US Army Sergeants Major Academy, Battle Staff NCO Course, ANCOC, Small Group Instructor, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Air Assault School, Drill Instructor Course and numerous others. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and an Associate in Arts Degree.
CSM Schulte's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Basic Aviation Badge, Air Assault Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, President's Hundred Tab, US Army Distinguished Rifleman Badge and US Army Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge.
CSM Schulte has two children and resides with his wife Janelle at the Sand Spring Ranch in Callaway County Missouri.
