Warrant Officers are the technical foundation of the United States Army
Warrant Officers are a specialized cohort of the Army’s Officer Corp supporting commanders at all levels as technologically agile, adaptive and innovative leaders who provide the necessary battlefield skills to win in a complex world. Warrant Officers specialize in technical areas like cyber, information networks, intelligence, aviation, electronics and maintenance technologies. Though a small percentage of the Army’s total strength, Warrant Officers play a significant role in sustaining the Army’s technological edge. They are today’s multifunctional leader training Soldiers, organizing and advising on missions, being tactically adept and advancing in expertise within their chosen career specialties.
Valued for their high degree of specialization, Warrant Officers are subject matter experts. They serve as trusted advisors, and in some situations, command at company and detachment levels. Noted for their ability to teach, coach and mentor, Warrant Officers are a guiding influence within their commands, playing a key role in developing both junior officers and noncommissioned officers.
